Simple Steps to change the point of focus on EOS Rebel T5i ↑
1. Turn on EOS Rebel T5i ↑
2. Press the AF point selection button ↑
The LCD monitor in the viewfinder will display the selected AF (auto-focus) point. There are 9 AF point inside in the viewfinder.
3. Select the point of focus ↑
Rotate the Main-Dial to select the point of focus that you want. The RED light will be turn on at the AF point that you selected.
EOS Rebel T5i also have automatic selection AF points, by rotating the main-dial until all the points light up.
Focusing on EOS Rebel T5i ↑
EOS Rebel T5i have total 9 AF points.
Nomally in Basic Zone mode, EOS rebel T5i will automatically focus the closest subject. It may not focus on your target subject.
In the modes <Tv>, <P>, <Av>, <M> you can manually select the AF (auto focus) point and use it to focus your target subject.

Shooting a portrait: It better to use one-shot AF and focus at the eyes, then you can easy recompose and the face will remain sharp.
The center AF point: It’s the most sensitive among 9 AF points. Therefore, if it’s difficult to focus then use the center AF point.
Moving subject: Set Camera to automactic AF point selection and Al servo AF. Camera will use the center AF point first. if the subject moves away the center. Camera will use another AF point to tracking subject.
Under low-light conditions: The built-in flash may light up a brief burst of flashes. It illuminates the subject for easier autofocusing.
